Over 500 varieties of frozen waffles manufactured by TreeHouse Foods and sold with the branding of major retailers such as Walmart's Great Value and Target's Good & Gather have been recalled because of possible Listeria.

As stated in the release:

"Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Listeria monocytogenes infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women."

No illnesses have been reported that are linked to the recalled products at the time of publishing. Anyone concerned about an illness should contact a healthcare provider.

This potential contamination "was discovered through routine testing at the manufacturing facility," TreeHouse said.
